Privacy Policy

Introduction

Welcome to Vivid Cut . We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how our mobile application handles user data, permissions, and security. By using Vivid Cut, you agree to the practices outlined in this policy.

1. Local-First Processing (Your Data Stays Yours)

We believe in absolute data privacy. Unlike traditional cloud-based video editors, Vivid Cut operates entirely on-device. Here is what that means for you:

  • No Server Uploads: All video files, images, background audio, and text assets imported into your projects are processed locally on your phone. We do not upload or store your media files on external servers.
  • No Voiceover Uploads: Audio recorded using the voiceover tool is written directly to your device's private cache directory and is never sent over the internet.
  • Offline Access: Because all video processing and exports occur locally on your hardware, you can edit and export projects entirely offline.

2. Device Permissions Required

To deliver a complete editing experience, Vivid Cut requests the following permissions. You can control or deny these permissions at any time through your device settings:

  • Photo Library / Gallery (Read/Write): Required to select video clips, photos, and audio files for editing, and to save completed video exports to your device's media gallery.
  • Microphone Access: Required only when you use the voiceover recording overlay to capture commentary for your timeline.
  • External Storage: Required on older operating system versions to load media files and write temporary asset cache.

3. Analytics & Diagnostics

We do not collect personal identifiers, usage patterns, or media metadata. We may use anonymous, aggregated crash reports and diagnostics to monitor app stability and fix bugs, helping us maintain the app's performance.

4. Children's Privacy

Because Vivid Cut does not collect, store, or transmit any personal information, the application is fully safe for users of all ages, including children under the age of 13. We comply fully with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).

5. Security

Since your video projects and media elements remain stored on your physical device, the security of your data relies on your device's operating system security. We recommend keeping your system updated and using device encryption.

6. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date at the top.
